B.S. in Systems Engineering Specialization Areas
Each student must choose nine (9) semester hours of technical electives from 6 available specializations. The specializations give students technical depth in a specific area. Technical electives are normally composed of 300 and 400 level courses from IT&E. 200-level courses are included for special reasons (e.g., if they are prerequisites for other 300
and 400 level technical electives or they are needed for the FE/EIT exam).
The following are the available specializations with their
required courses
- Operations Research (OR)
- SYST 420 - Network Analysis
- SYST 465 - Pricing in Optimization and Game Theory
- OR 481 - Numerical Methods
- Control Systems(CTL)
- ECE 201 - Intro to EE
- ECE 220 - Signals & Systems I
- SYST 421 - Classical Systems & Control Theory

- ECE 465 - Computer Networking Protocols
- Software Intensive Systems (SIS)
- CS 310 - Data Structures
- CS 332 - Object-Oriented Software Design and Implementation
- CS 421 - Software Requirements and Design Modeling
- Engineering Systems (ENG)
